Litav strives to collaboratively advance the multidimensional thriving of Western’s fabulous students who are BIPOC, disabled, and LGBTQ+, including students who hold multiple marginalized identities. In their role, they lead creation, implementation, and assessment of student affairs structures, programs, and services that further Western’s mission of inclusive achievement and strategic goals in equity, justice, and inclusion. Their responsibilities include overseeing the Disability Access Center, LGBTQ+ Western, and Multicultural Student Services. Litav reports to the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services.

After graduating from law school, Litav clerked in the Massachusetts Appeals Court and practiced law in Boston, Massachusetts. As a member of the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association’s board of directors, they were founding chair of the Association’s Committee on Transgender Inclusion. Litav’s community engagement has also included serving on the board of directors of Northwest Youth Services, and work with organizations including the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition, GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders, and the National LGBTQ Task Force.

Litav earned their J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, where they were a Public Interest Law Scholar, and their B.A. from Boston University. In 2018, Western recognized Litav with the Carl H. Simpson Bridging Award and the Philip E. Sharpe, Jr. Community Engagement Award. During their time as an attorney, Litav was recognized by the National LGBT Bar Association as one of the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 and by the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association with the Kevin Larkin Memorial Award for Public Service.

Litav and their partner live in Bellingham with their three wild and fabulous children. You might find them exploring in the woods or on the coast, engaged in a family dance party, or baking sweet things.
